I knew that I wanted to write to an abortion clinic so I searched for abortion clinics in an area near me. When I found Femi-Care Surgery center I was unable to find a recipient to write my letter to. I then went to LinkedIn and searched the organization and that is how I found my recipient. I chose to write to Tanya Embrey because she is the office manager.

Dear Tanya:
As
office manager of an abortion clinic I am sure that you have witnessed several
females entering your clinic who feel as if abortion is their only option. In
addition, I am also certain that many of the women who come to your clinic are
uneducated about what other alternatives there are for them when they are
unable to take care of their unborn child. Regardless of the discussion of
whether abortions should be legal or illegal there are other possible routes
for mothers to take such as adoption. If you were to inform your clients about
how adoption agencies not only will the numbers of children who could possibly
be adopted increase but the families who are unable to conceive will benefit
from this as well.
In Michael Synder’s
article, “19 Facts about Abortion in America That Should Make You Very Sick,”
he says “Approximately 3,000 Americans lost their lives as a result of the
destruction of the World Trade Center towers on 9/11. Every single day, more
than 3,000 American babies are killed by abortion.” My proposition for your
organization will not stop abortions completely, but could possibly be help to
those families who are looking to adopt along with helping to inform mothers
who are uneducated about other routes that they could possibly go which would
be a good first step. By doing this your organization will not have to spend
much money at all. There are two simple ways to inform those who are uneducated
about how adoption works and its benefits. These two simple steps are the use
of pamphlets and in addition your employees could verbally inform the clients.
In you time at the abortion clinic I am almost positive that you have come in
contact with several families who were upset about aborting their pregnancy but
didn’t know what else to do, well this change may be helpful to them. If you
were to inform people about adoption agencies you wouldn’t have to say much.
All you would have to let clienteles know is that adoption is a possibility, it
is not a bad possibility but it is a real possibility. Many people look at
adoption as being immoral but this is not the case. Adoption is one of those
options that people don’t like to think about simply because they don’t want to
hand their child over to someone else. Some may think that putting a child up
for adoption is a bad idea because the children will grow up to believe that
their parents didn’t love them. However, while this may be hard for the biological
parents, adoption does have its benefits; adoption could be a positive
solution. If mothers were to put their children up for adoption they would be
giving families who are unable to conceive a child. Several people are being
paid thousands of dollars just to carry someone else’s child because the
adoption agencies are having a decrease in the amount of children in the
system. In Terry Eastland’s article, “The Forgotten Option”, he discusses the
severe differences in the numbers of families wanting to adopt and the numbers
of children actually in the system due to the abortion rates; in the year of
2002 there were over 2 million families waiting to adopt children but there
were only 134,000 children in the United States system that could actually be
adopted.
I feel as if this would
be an easy solution to the problem because if families are willing to adopt a
child and are financially stable to raise a family why not let them; putting
children in an adoption agency is beneficial and this is what some people fail
to realize. If abortion clinics were to inform mothers about adoption agencies
it is possible that mothers would feel more comfortable with giving their child
to another family. In addition mothers will not feel obligated to terminate
their pregnancy if they can see the positive side of handing their child over
to a family that can give them a great life.
Sincerely,
Yasmine Byrd
